In article <24826 at adm.BRL.MIL> vilva at csvax.csc.lsu.edu (Vilva Natarajan) 
asks how to use system(3) but grab the output, and about ten people so
far have posted the (same) answer.
I know it can take a while for news to propagate, but I bet a bunch of the 
follow-ups were posted without reading through the group all the way first 
to see if someone else had already responded.
Come on, rn users, 'm'ark or 'M'ark that baby and only post after you've
read far enough to be sure that someone hasn't already given the answer.
The rest of you, use the appropriate incantation for your specific
newsreaders.
