Backup Utilities

I was wondering for you people who are running Unix on large systems, what
kind of software are you using to do backups ?? Are there decent commercial
products ?? Did you roll your own ?? What kind of backup media do you use ??
Are there any backup packages that allow concurrent backups (i.e. divide the
backup into parts and have multiple tapes spinning at the same time.) ??
How do you make it so that you're not spending more time backing up rather
than doing real work ?? (100 Gig of disk @ 500K per second = approx. 2.5 days)
