Serial port interupts & Uport

Here's a good question.. I have Uport 286 2.3.1. I have two serial ports
on COM1 and COM2 (Interupts 4/3). I also have two parallel ports on LPT1
and LPT2 (7/5). I just purchased an internal modem I'd like to make COM1.
How do I do this? I'm out of interupts! I'm told I can move the LPT2 to
make a COM3 port. I tried going into the linkkit, moving lp's interupt
vector such that I lose LPT2 for COM3. I then boot, and now I can't use
serial ports anymore. What's the proper way of doing this?
