Floppy activity light

First I'd like to thank everyone for their ideas on the problem.
It turned out to be simpler than I thought, so I decided to post
the solution.

The problem was why does the floppy drive activity LED stay on
sometimes when V/AT boots up but _always_ goes out when DOS is
in.  There were several explanations and suggested solutions
but the most elegant of all is what I'll pass on.

Don't be so quick with pushing <ENTER> in response to the boot
prompt.  If you are patient, the light will go off by itself
and then you proceed with <ENTER>.  Neat, easy, and all you have
tp be is patient :-)
