I think I have a working pty driver for SV/AT - what do I do with it?

I've gotten the pty driver for system V (the version recently posted to
comp.sources.bugs) to compile and link under System V/AT 2.3.0. I've even
succeeded in getting data back and forth from a pty to its slave tty (using
tail -f /dev/ptyp0 on one console and cat foo >/dev/ttyp0 on another). What
do I have to do to use it bidirectionally? Ideally, I'd like something on
the order of allowing me to talk to /dev/ptyp0, with a getty going to
/dev/ttyp0. If it helps, I have the standard System V/AT stuff, but no EMACS
other than microEMACS 3.9e.

After I make sure it runs, I'll clean it up and post it.

One other thing I've noticed: it only outputs characters from one to the
other (as evidenced by tail -f) when it fills a buffer. Is this a bug, or a
feature, or a problem with tail -f?
