serial bug "fix" in 2.3

Just when you thought it was safe....
Under pre-2.3 releases when I got a double panic it said
so on the console and everything froze, until I reset
the computer.
Now microport has fixed the double panic bug. Now it
flashes the double panic message up and reboots. Big
improvement. That wasn't the serial line, that was,
uh, a power glitch! Yeah, a power glitch, that's the ticket!
I've had two that I know of - once I looked away and when
I looked back there was the memory test counting away...
This morning I was watching and caught a couple of scans
of "Doubl . . <fuzz>" and then the memory test.
Thanks, guys. Big help.
