First, of all, thanxs to everybody for all the great
information/suggestions that this newsgroup generates.
We've definitely managed to keep the garbage/useful
ratio at a real good level ;-)
I've got a problem...
I've been using a US robotics 2400 baud modem at home on
my Sperry IT running 2.3-L. I first installed it as
tty2 using ttypatch -i4 -a1000 -t2. It worked fine for
a while, and then quit on me, either giving "no modem
response" or connecting and then loosing characters left
and right!
modem works fine under DOS using the USR telpac package.
but uport cu bombs out. I dont want to loose tty0 or
tty1 from the sperry (neither can be moved to another
port, only disabled) so would like to keep the modem as
tty2.
i've done the kernal patch to change the CAPS LOCK to a
<CTRL> key. this may be the culprit, and i'll check
this out this afternoon. if so, does anyone have a
keyboard remapper that is safe?
email suggestions and i'll summarize, or post if you
think it's important.
