What is cpiopc ?

This is a microport question.  Does any body know what /bin/cpiopc is? 

$ cpiopc
Usage: cpiopc -o[acvBwxyz0..5] <name-list [>collection]
       cpiopc -i[cdmrtuvfBKwxyz0..5] [-n user] [pattern ...] [<collection]

Obviously a cpio type utility. There does not seem to be any documentation.
I presume the corresponding flags are the same as cpio. But what are the
K, w, x, y, z, 0..5 flags? Can this utility write to dos disks ?
