More screws up under uport/286

OK. It's useless to try to get somebody at uport to reply to mail.
The more command distrubted with Version 2.4 of System V/AT
has a problem working when you're logged in from ttyM1 over
a modem. What happens is that it displays one screenful
then just stops (no core dump) and you get a shell prompt
back but the tty is still in no-echo mode. This seems
to be exactly the same as the version of more on the uport BBS.
It also doesn't matter what TERM is set to. It doesn't happen
with a terminal connectted to tty0 and it doesn't happen on
the system console; it only seems to happen on ttyM1 when logged
in with a modem. It happens to all the system users all dialing
from different places with diferent modem types.
What can it be? Does anybody else see this?
