*** Modem problem Under Microport ***

			Modem problem with microport

     I have been running my Sperry IT with microport Unix for a couple
of years now with only the 'standard problems' .  Lately, my modem fried
and I bought a prometheus  2400 baud internal. Everything works without
flaw in DOS but under microport I have problems.  When I start a uucp
xfer or call out using cu all seems well.  The data xfer (or the cu
session) works fine.  The problem comes when the modem hangs up.  About
fifteen seconds after hangup the system goes crazy.  Dsipaly lines from
other console sessions start showing up on the current console screen.
ie. display lines from virtual screen 2 appear in the middle of the virtual
screen currently on display, say screen 4.  About 5 seconds later the system
gets a double tss fault and the machine reboots.  

Anyone had a problem like this?

Anyone have ANY ideas?

Calling microport is no help.  They dismiss the whole thing as a 
'hardware problem'. (THANKS ALOT FOR YOUR INDEPTH HELP)

I'll try anything at this point!!!!
