uemacs 3.10 on Microport VA/T 2.4 causes compiler error

Compiling unix.c causes a fatal error in /lib/front (Status 0213, Error Code
-117). Unix.c also tries to include <ndir.h> which I dont have. Can someone
tell me what it is.
