fields in rusage struct of resource.h

   I am posting this for a friend of mine who doesn't have access
to USENET, so please respond directly to mlevin at jade.tufts.edu.

in the /usr/include/sys/resource.h header file, there is a struct called
rusage, which has fields about process resource use. Most of these are
pretty self-explanatory, but there are two called "messages sent" and
"messages recevied". What kind of messages are there referring to?
