Query: PC disks for VAXen

We would like to be able to transfer files quickly between our VAX 11/750
and our PC ATs. One of the solutions that we have been kicking around
is floppy disk. Does anyone know of anything out there that would allow
a VAX to read and write 5 1/4" floppies? The goal here is to get a better
file transfer rate than can be achieved via uucp. I expect to have quite a
bit of trouble finding something like this so I'll write a list of things
I could probably use, in decreasing order of preference. Would anyone who
knows anything about the existence of any of these please respond (via
e-mail if possible)? Tips on commercial products are best, but info on local
hacks would be appreciated, or even rumours.
1) VAX UNIX BSD 4.1 <--> IBM Xenix 2.0 tar format
2) BSD 4.1 <--> MS-DOS diskettes
3) VMS <--> MS-DOS hardware
The solution I'm looking for would require both hardware and software, so
I'd be willing to put together the various pieces, or even consider making
some missing pieces myself.
Flame retardant: yes, I know a better solution would be to upgrade to 4.3
and get an Ethernet and appropriate ftp-type software.
We're working on it.
