uucp mapping problems

I am attempting to get the uucp mapping software (getmaps)
running on my VAX (w/ 4.3 BSD). I should have the latest version (I got it 
from the usenet archives).

The shell scripts extract the maps just fine from the readnews program, and
the 'uumkmk' shell runs fine and creates a 'Makefile'.  Then, when I run
'make', pathalias chokes with this error message:

'pathalias : illegal option -- p'.

Apparently, pathalias doesn't like the 'p' option. Any ideas?  BTW, the version 
of pathalias I have is also the latest and greatest (supposedly) from the 
usenet archives.
