stdargs on a Sun 4. Help needed!

I asked about this a while ago, but I am not sure the article got out.

Does anybody know how to make stdarg.h work on a Sun 4?  It is primary for use
with C++ (AT&T 1.2.1).  The machine is running SunOS4-3.2.

The problem is that Sun C compiler expects to see the token __builtin_va_alist
in the function header to make it work, but how do I get CC to generate such
code?  I could hack cfront, but I would rather not.

Any help is appreciated.
