Tabs in VI

Bill, how did you do that?  Our version of vi accepts :se ts=0,
but silently sets the tabstop back to 8.  In other words, I can't
get there from here.  We're running Gould's flavor of BSD4.3, and
our version of vi is "3.7, 6/7/85".
