Is "learn" public domain?

Can someone tell me whether or not the interactive tutorial "learn" is
public domain?  I would like to give it to an acquaintance, but am 
unsure whether it has AT&T or Berkeley origins.  The one I want to
give away came with 4.3BSD from Berkeley.  Thanks.
