Greetings -
I would like to write a more efficient tty driver for my PC, an AT&T
6300 PLUS running SVR2. The I/O board I am building will support 4
ports and have a small buffer. I have found several references
to writing generic tty drivers that interrupt on each character, but
that is what I don't want to do.
I am looking for furthur information regarding using polling, DMA, and
generally tweaking tty device drivers, as well as line discipline and
modem control.
I am aware of several products on the market that do this already, but
my objective is as much learning, as anything else.
Any help will be greatly appreciated.
