Ah, but pity the poor user who doesn't *know* that text processing is an
addon on their particular system, or the poor programmer who doesn't *know*
that 'time' is a system call and 'ctime' a library routine. Life gets hard
if you don't have on-line manuals :-(, but you do have the fun of being
sidetracked by funky-looking calls as you flick through the pages :-)
