make temp files?

Both csh and sh replace $$ with the current PID. Using that, you can
create and use a unique tmp file name with(sh):
file=/tmp/aa$$
stuff >> $file
...
rm $file
--
-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-=*=-
