comparisons between text

I need to compare two versions of a lengthy nroff document and produce a 
third version showing both additions and deletions.  Ideally, the added 
text would be set off by the .B and .R macros to turn on bold printing 
and the deleted text would be set off by '[' and ']'.  'diff' and 
'diffmk' won't really do the job.  Comments or pointers to source would
be appreciated.
