Looking for macro program

I'm looking for a UNIX-based application program that lets you
program macros.  It should be similar to DOS-based programs like
ProKey and SuperKey.  We want to create test suites to compare
the performance of various applications run under different UNIX
multiuser environments.  Performance timings can usually be
recorded from within individual applications, but we need the
macro program to automate the execution of all the applications
in a test suite.
