Getting a UUCP feed

Hello people. I'm in the process of getting A/UX for my Mac II. I'm
interested in putting my machine onto uucp so that I can at last break
free of University mail regulations and have my own feed to/from usenet.
How does one go about getting a uucp feed? Are certain organizations
required to provide these feeds? Or do you have to convince someone to
let you connect? Also, is there any sort of central registration of
uucp node names? (i.e., so that you can get yourself into peoples' host
tables, etc.)
Basically what I'm saying is that I'm at a loss as to how to begin. Any and
all introductory info on establishing a feed would be appreciated. Sorry to
be raising what I'm sure is a hackneyed question.
By the way, if anyone can even begin to point me in the right direction of
how one can obtain a private internet connection, I'd also appreciate it.
Immesurable thanks in advance.
