Double colon (::) in SYSV.3 make?

Hi,

On System V.3, there is no description about double colon (::) dependency
rule (BSD man page describes it) in the man page of 'make'.  Nonetheless, 
it seems that our machine Ardent Titan (SysV.3) understands :: dependecy.
  Is this true for all SysV.3 machines, or is it just an extension in our
machine?
