mixed baud rates

Sorry if you've seen this already, but I think it got lost in the mail.
I have a dial-in port running at 1200 baud on a machine with a
hardwire connection at to 9600 to `another computer'. When I dial-
in to the machine, then tip(1) to the `other computer', most of
the output of the `other computer' never makes it over the phone
line. Is there a simple fix? The `other computer' does not have
have a way to change speeds via software (dip switches only).
