Curses!!

      After using Unix for a little over a year now, I'm finally getting 
around to learning C.  I've been trying to do simple stuff like clearing 
the screen, moving the cursor around, etc, using curses, but I've had no
luck whatsoever in getting any of it to work.  The manual page just gives
a list of the functions available, but doesn't tell much about how to go
about using them.
      To compile my curses programs, I use:
      cc file.c -lcurses -ltermcap (Like it says to do in the manual)
      but one thing or another always comes up undefined.

      Anybody have any suggestions as to how I can get started messing
around with curses?  Books, text files you can mail me, etc.....

      Any & all help will be appreciated for ever and ever until the 
next day or so.
