vi ex mode return to visual summary

My problem with getting stuck in command mode appears to have benn
a capital Q in command mode tossed me into ex mode, where the
colons appeared.  Entering 'vi' at the colon returned me to visual
mode.  Thanx for all of the hel to those whole sent me mail..
