Looking for Calendar Software - The Envelope Please!

Earlier this month I posted the following request for information
about calendar software:

|
|Many our law firm clients have asked us to investigate
|the availability of a high quality calendar system. Most of
|these clients are now using NCR Towers (SysV.2) or IBM-RT's
|(AIX 2.2?).
|
|Among the features desired are:
|
| - both personal and firm-wide calendars
| - separate tracking of firm-wide obligations
| - reporting by responsible person and manager
| - meeting scheduling
| - validation interface to other software (or
| special files) for client, case, attorney, etc.
| - ability to keep notes on the personal calendar
|
|The real need, however, is for a damn good calendar system that
|has a track record; if it is being used successfully in law
|firms, we have a home run. Within reason, PRICE IS NOT THE
|OBJECT! We will be happy to discuss a dealer relationship with
|the right vendor.
|
|Please e-mail; I will summarize for anyone interested.
|
|Thanks,
|

Here is my summary:

My conclusion from the responses is that many others have seen the
need for such a product, but have not found the "right" product or
been motivated enought to do one themselves (believe me, I
understand!). A couple of calendar products mentioned are part of
office automation systems, and I am checking on their stand-alone
availability. I wonder, however, if there might be room for a new
stand-alone product? Hmm...time to get out the coding sheets?

Thanks to all who responded. Specifically:

William Walker (uunet!nswc-wo.arpa!wrwalke) suggested the Office Power
product from CCI; good product but supported only on their hardware

Lang Zerner (uunet!asylum.sf.ca.us!langz) suggested the calendar
portion of ALIS (from Applix, Inc.); I'm checking whether the
calendar function can be separated from the rest of the OA product.

Larry Mullen (...mcdphx!sbo!larry) suggested Qdate from Quadratron
Systems; as with ALIS, I'm checking how well it would work
stand-alone.

Thanks also to:

Yunki Paik (paik at ati.tis.llnl.gov)
Dave Mason (uunet!tmsoft!mason)
Bridget Dobbins (uunet!unisoft!bridget)
Bruce Reisman (uunet!att!mtfmi!bwr)

I'll let you all know what we end up doing.

Regards,
Dick Gill
