Can I replace the disk in my AT&T 7300 UNIX PC?

I would like to replace the 67 Megabyte hard drive on my AT&T 7300 UNIX PC
with a larger drive. I recall seeing some articles here and the indication
that any ST506 drive would work. AT&T Support claims that the controller
chip will only support a maximum of 67 Megabytes. She further stated that
the limit was 8 heads, 1024 cylinders max, which actually translates to
69.6 Megabytes, assuming 17 sectors/track at 512 bytes per sector.

Does anyone know if a larger disk can be installed? How does this
affect the software filesystem setup? Can the controller be replaced/upgraded
to address a larger disk, especially an RLL or ESDI format disk?

Please e-mail any replies -- all help, information, referalls would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanx,
marc
