Automated Build System for SCCS/make

I am investigating the creation of an automatic build system for
a project currently using SCCS/make. 
There are approximately 50 developers and 500k lines of code.


1. Has anyone tried this before or have comments on an automatic
   build system?
2. Are there any UNIX vars who market a product like this?
