Shared Memory On UNIX???

Help needed!!!

I am designing a system that spawns out mutiple tasks(child processes). I
intend to allow the tasks share the same data structure. How could I implement
it on UNIX? Personally, I prefer the shared memory method. But I don't have 
enough knowledge about shared memory on UNIX. If anyone knows the answer please 
post it on this news group or e-mail to me. I would appreciate any help very
much.
