graphic artists anyone?

I am looking at moving up (way up) from a PC-based graphics platform and I'm
looking at UNIX with an eye to the future.
I'd like to hear from anyone with experience in pre-press, graphics, 
typesetting, etc on UNIX-based systems.
 
Any takers?
