Public Access Unix systems

Does anyone out there in net.land know of a publicly accessible Unix machine
in the Washington DC area??  What I'm looking for is a subscription service
that provides access to news and ftp, since I'm about to lose my company
net access.  If anyone could point me in the direction of a public system,
i'd be eternally grateful.
