printcap

     I have seen a few mentions of printcap, but am not familiar with it.  I
am using SCO Xenix version 2.3.2, and (apparently) do not have printcap, but
I am curious as to its use (particularly since I was just starting to write
something I was going to call printcap).  Can someone please fill me in as to
what printcap is, some examples of its use, and whether or not there is a
public-domain equivalent of it available?
