"Goals" wanted

I am currently compiling a list of possible goals that UN*X users achieve
by performing a sequence of actions (ie several separate shell commands).

A good example would be getting a program from news/mail - this involves
saving the news article, stripping off the header etc.

All suggestions gratefully received (by e-mail), no matter how seemingly
trivial!
