unarchiving .tar files

       We had run into the same problem earlier and requested info
on how to do and several came immediately to my rescue.  Their answer
was that I should have also read the TFM, but to this date I have never
seen the answer there.  Enough of this rambling.

cd to the directory that you want the file to reside into:

   tar xf /usr/spool/uucppublic/download/file.tar

Replace the /usr/spool/....file.tar with your file and directory.
The f option is normally for devices but will work with a file name
specifically.
