PD/example SCSI device driver?

A friend of mine with a Silicon Graphics Iris wants to control some
widget or another through a SCSI port. He expects to write the device
driver himself, but asked me to ask around and see if anybody has
an example driver he can look at. He already has a handful of the
Unix internals books, include "Writing a Unix Device Driver", but more
documentation pointers are also always welcome.
