Mailing List Info/Software

Can anyone point me to a good description of how to run a mailing list
on a bsd-based machine (-owner and all that stuff) as well as any
useful little software bits that might help it all run (this will be
an "exploder" type list, not a digest). Thanks a lot!

(Anything about news-mailing list gateways would be useful too - I
already know about the stuff that comes with Cnews).
