Unix System V R3.2

Hello,

	I've an Unisys U6000 running system V R3.2. I'd like to turn on
the equivalent of syslogd on the other systems (like AIX). Unfortunately,
there's no syslogd. I've found that all the daemons started by inetd are
using the file /etc/log/socket to write a lire-record containing their
name and the date (+time). But I don't have the name of the user, the
machine the call comes from and so on. In fact, only ftpd as a logging
option (-l) and only telnetd and ftpd have debugging options (-d).
But the debugging infos aren't stored in /etc/log/socket (I don't
know where they are stored), and talkd, rlogind, rshd and rexecd have none.

	Could any one tell me what I have to do to gain access to these
informations and have them stored in a file ? I've heard about strace
and strerr, but I know understand precisely how they act, and I can't 
find any informations on the parameters that are required. 
	If it's not possible with the standard tools, where can I find
others which will work, and has anybody already done that on a similar
system ?
