changing "end of line" determination

One of our users has the following configuration:  He's sending data
to a terminal, and would like to change the way the receiving terminal
deals with end of line --- he wants the terminal to recognize \r as
the terminating character, rather than \n.

Is there some way to do this in termcap, or should it be done some 
other way?
