Literature references

[Murray S. Kucherawy]

Can anyone recommend a good book to read to learn about protocols and
media (twisted pair, thick/thin-wire, etc.) and ISO layers and whatever
else one should know to maintain and manage networks?

Also, any references for learning about nameservers, MX records,
etc. would be very useful.
