Looking for autoftp shell script

The University of Hawaii is changing from a VAX 8650 running Ultrix to
Sun servers running sun-OS.  The migration is disastrous in many ways.
The version of 'autoftp', a shell script to access the SIMTEL20 archives
and download files, which worked fine under ultrix crashes on the Sun.
Does anyone have an updated version which would work?
I have tried to recompile, and re-execute the shell script, but nothing
works.  I am specifically looking for an autoftp script which can access
the pd1 and pd2 directories of MSDOS files in the simtel archives.
