--HELP!--need help setting up/compiling IRC client...

[Hopelessly Lost]

Please help a confused non-CIS major!

I have the makings for the IRC client, along with the list of all the
IRC servers....I need step by step instructions to complile the config.h
file.

Anyone currently running an IRC client, please let me know how to do it.
