First of all I would like to thank those of you that informed me it IS
possible to alter the bus speed of my mother board. This was contrary to what
the first bone-head at Pioneer (the makers of the board) had to say, so I called
them a second time (not counting the usual busy attempts)and I acted real sure
of myself and sure enough they found someone there competent enough to tell me
how to do it with debug (yech!). Well as an aside, they asked me whether I was
an end-user or a dealer, to which I truthfully (MISTAKE) responded end-user.
At that point the lady refused to send me the info! She said that it was
against their policy to send such info to users because they could damage their
system. She wouldn't listen to any of my "I'll hose it if I want, I paid for
it." ranting, and I eventually had to call up and lie (they knew who I was)
to get the info.
Now that brings me to my next plight... Can I damage my system by doing
this (boy them would I look like an ass)? All I want to do is bump up my bus
speed from ATCLOCK to SYSCLOCK/2 on a 20 MHz sx system (ie from 8 to 10 MHz).
Secondly have any of ya'll gotten Thomas R.'s X server to compile under
ODT? If so please mail me I would like to put a FEW questions to you.
-Thanks Again
-Dave
