Need Recommendation: noninterlace video board

I have always been keeping my eyes open for a good deal on 
the GoldStar 16" color monitor - so far the best price I have
seen is $670 --

hmm..  I wonder how it looks with X?

Also, I noticed in comp.sys.sun where some of the folks were
getting Sun 19" monochrome monitors for $600 and running them
on their macs - I wonder if they could be used with one of the
ultra VGA boards?
