Put the blame where it belongs

There seems to be quite a few messages of the form:
386 unix X doesn't work on hardware Y, unix X sucks and I wouldn't even
recommend it to Sadam Hussein.
I think this is being somewhat unfair to the makers of 386 unix, after all
in most cases it is the hardware that is incompatible. I do not envy the poor
unix porter who has to deal with the massive amounts of incompatible hardware
that exist. If a hardware maker is unwilling to provide unix support
for there product, give your money to some one else.
If some one has the time an and a place to put it, it might be worth
while gathering a list of which hardware does and doesn't work with certain
versions of unix, which would be available for anonymus ftp. This would
save alots of guess work when trying to assemble a unix system.
P.S. Does any one know of a cheap 1024X768X256 video card that comes with
support for X windows?
