386/ix X11 Rel 1.1 vs. 1.2 -- differences

Several weeks ago I ordered from my (German) dealer the X11 Development
System for my ISC 386/ix.
The delivery was delayed because the new release 1.2 was to appear
soon. Today I received my order -- but it wasn't 1.2, it is 1.1 !
I think I have to complain at my dealer, but I want to back this
up with some facts about the key differences between the both.
What I would appreciate is to hear from someone who has experience
with both X11 Releases (1.1 and 1.2):
- what is the added value of 1.2 (fixed bugs, new features)
- esp. what about international characters in the fonts
(I need the special German "Umlauts" and want to use X11
on a Sigma Laserviev). Are the differences significant
between 1.1 and 1.2 in this respect?
- Is the price for 1.1 and 1.2 the same in the U.S.A. ?
(From other articles I know the upgrade price is $100
for the development system. As I don't have broken the
seals, naturely I'm not willing to pay additional money
only to obtain an "up-to-date" product in some weeks,
and would rather return the whole package).
- If my dealer is willing to reduce the price, is it
worth while to go ahead and install and use 1.1 while
waiting for the update to 1.2 (I assume this will last
another month or so until 1.2 is available here).
As I didn't have X11 until now, I'm not in bad need to install it
immediatly, especially if I might have to go thru a complex installation
again some weeks later. Note that I will also upgrade my OS from 2.0.2
to 2.2. Is it possible to use X11 Rel 1.1 with 386/ix 2.2 or must I
delay the upgrade to 2.2 if I plan to install X11 Rel 1.1 ?
