sl/ip on error free channels

did anyone (ISC, SCO, ...) think about a sl/ip driver that expects
the data channel to be error free, i.e. one that does 'spoofing' (?)
like the trailblazers ?
that way one could use HST modems and direct links for sl/ip perfectly!
at the moment all those ack's make HST's a pain for sl/ip and V.32
doesn't work here as it should...
