Strings?

Has anyone gotten the program "strings" to compile under SV/386 with the
new Std. C compiler (CI 5.0)?  I can compile it without using the
supplied unsharedlib.a (must change all lds* to lda* and use -lld", but
it can't open any file on the command line!
