note, however, that the scsi controller chip changed from A to B to C.
that is, you can't use B eproms on a C etc.

just a hint for top notch people: the AHA-1740 EISA SCSI host adapter
should be available by the end of january. it has a 154x compatibility
mode and a faster 1740 native mode. BOTH modes do 32bit DMA. the
native mode is designed to be used with unix.
